Aquaponic Fish Tank
System Projects

In this page we present the quantitative results of every aquaponic
fish tank system that has been sponsored by Ecoconomist

About our Aquaponic Fish Tank Systems

Ecoconomist is trying to slowly but surely raise enough donations to build medium sized aquaponic fish tank systems in rural Guatemala.  There are several communities who are already in contact with Ecoconomist in order to hopefully soon kick off this collaboration between the communities, Ecoconomist NGO and Energia y Ambiente, who would be helping us to build a functional and ecocnomically viable fish tank system in one of these communities.

An aquaponic fish tank system helps communities farm their own food, including all sorts of vegetables and tilapia fish, which can help them both become financially self-sufficient whilst reaching food security for the towns at the same time.

Pilot Aquaponic fish tank projects - Guatemala

We have not yet been able to build an aquaponic fish tank system for a vulnerable community in Guatemala but we have access to data of privately funded aquaponic systems so that we can demonstrate the systems benefits to our potential donors and the way we are going to keep a close eye on our future projects’ benefits and results.

Santa Ana, Antigua - AFP001

The creators of these Aquaponic Fish Tank Systems, Energía y Ambiente, have given Ecoconomist NGO access to their closely monitored aquaponic fish tanks system in Antigua, Guatemala. This one is a medium sized aquaponic fish tank system which is made up of two round fish tanks and 4 vegetable beds as can be seen in the video below.

The results presented in the following tables started being documented in January of 2026 even though they have been working since at least 10 years ago.
